Junior Technical Writer

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Technical Writer to join our team and assist in creating clear and user-friendly technical documentation. This role is suitable for individuals with a keen interest in writing and technology, aiming to establish a career in technical documentation. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to produce concise and comprehensible documentation. As a Junior Technical Writer, your responsibilities will include creating, editing, and updating various technical documents such as user guides, manuals, FAQs, and API documentation. You will be tasked with documenting APIs, working with subject matter experts to simplify complex technical information for a non-technical audience, and ensuring consistency and clarity in all documentation by adhering to style guides and best practices. Additionally, you will conduct research on industry trends and standards to enhance the quality of the content, assist in organizing content for knowledge bases, proofread and review documentation for errors, and collaborate with the development team to document product features and updates. The ideal candidate should possess a strong command of the English language with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. A good understanding of technical concepts and the ability to quickly grasp new technologies is essential. Proficiency in documenting APIs, familiarity with tools like MS Word, Google Docs, Markdown, or Confluence, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are key requirements for this role. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are also important. Preferred skills that would be advantageous for this role include knowledge of HTML, CSS, or basic coding principles, experience with version control systems like Git, exposure to API documentation tools such as Swagger or Postman, and an understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. This is a full-time position based in Calicut, with the requirement to work in the office from Monday to Friday.
