Job Description of Jr. Officer – Production

Basic Information of Role

Job Title: Jr. Officer

Based at: Ankleshwar plants

Department- Production

Reports to: Head - Production

Direct Reports: Workman

Section One : Job Purpose:

Achieving production target of the area allotted in shift while ensuring the quality of product, optimum utilization of manpower, material, & machines as per instructions & standard procedures and ensuring safety of people, process & plant at work place.

Section Two : Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

§ Work in shifts environment where plant is operating 24 X 7 for managing of floor activities.

§ Verify all raw materials & intermediates received from stores are as per product name, product code, consignment number & in required quantity.

§ Ensure the process activities as per the relevant work instruction cum process sheet.

§ Responsible for overall processing activity within resin plant, varnish section, thinner section and recovery area in respective shifts.

§ Keeping records of observations, RM charging details, test results as per work instructions cum process sheet.

§ Communicate effectively to Shift In-Charge for any deviation, abnormality, any safety & quality related issues.

§ Ensure all the person working in plant use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per the requirement.

§ To meet the production target in terms of yields, quality, efficiencies, first time pass rate and timely delivery as per the set guidelines and directions in shift.

§ Ensure proper co-ordination with engineering department for breakdown and preventive maintenance.

§ Support to sustain & improve systems as laid down by the management viz. ISO 9001, 45001, 18001, six sigma & 5S etc.

§ Ensure to follow inspection & verification schedule for critical activities in plant.

§ To train the workmen on safe work practice, handling of materials and other relevant activities required for manufacturing.

§ Suggest & participate to implement it for improvement in processes for reduction in cycle time, resource conservation activities etc.

§ Ensure all documents related to process parameters and other relevant activities are appropriately recorded.

§ Keeping proper records of finished product produced and all the packed material is having required labels and communicate same to shift in-charge.

§ Ensure no unwanted material laying on the floor of plant.

§ Handover charge to reliever on shop floor with all relevant details.

§ Maintaining proper housekeeping of the plant and surrounding area.

§ Handling of hazardous chemicals and critical processes.

§ Be prepared for handling of emergency and to support crisis management team for handling of any emergency

Section Three : Major Challenges

§ Zero incident/accident in plant.

§ Achieving production plan in shift operation with optimum utilization of resources (man, machine, material, energy etc.).

§ Support for maintaining & improving safety, PSM, quality of product, OEE, 5S, efficiency, capability and IMS in the plant.

Section Four : Key accountabilities/ Performance Matrices

§ To achieve production target as per shift/section

§ To ensure no accident / near miss happens in shift/section

§ To ensure no rejection of batch due to quality in shifts

§ To ensure proper housekeeping on assign section

§ To ensure required effluent discharging to ETP in coordination with Shift In-charge.

§ To ensure all the processing parameters are in the range as per the SOP.
