Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer with a strong foundation in IP networking to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the deployment, operation, and support of our network infrastructure, including community-based digital and networking initiatives. This role is suited for someone who has hands-on experience in basic routing and switching, is eager to learn, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Experience or interest in community networks is considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Support daily network operations, including incident response, diagnostics, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to implement network upgrades and improvement initiatives.
• Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide technical support for internal teams and community-based digital initiatives.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing and contribute to the continuous improvement of network practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in network support or related IT roles.
• Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnets, routing, switching, and VLANs.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
