Junior Finance Assistant

Job Summary

You will play a key role in assisting the Finance Team in the day to day administration, processing and book keeping support. This is primarily finance supporting our team in India. Providing secondary cover for other financial duties.

This role is aimed at individuals looking to start their career in finance and accounting. Possibly a college leaver or someone looking for a career change.

What you’ll be doing

• Record daily financial transactions in accounting software (Xero).
• Assist in preparing and posting journal entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts.
• Verify accuracy of invoices and process payments.
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers. Following up with clients if payments are late and ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes including compliance related matters such as GST/TDS etc.
• Assist in preparing basic financial reports for management.
• Ensure proper filing of accounting documents and records.
• Liaise with vendors, clients, auditors, and internal teams for account-related queries.
• Support the Global finance team during audits.
• Complete ad-hoc tasks and other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Xero) is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
