Job Description

As a Junior Accountant at the UAE Operations, your role will involve assisting the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting operations, processing invoices, handling reconciliations, and ensuring compliance. You will work collaboratively under the guidance of the Accounts Manager/Senior Accountant and Head of Operations to ensure the smooth functioning of financial activities. Key Responsibilities: - Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system. - Maintain ledgers, journals, and other financial records accurately and timely. - Prepare and process supplier invoices, customer receipts, and expense claims with correct account coding and supporting documentation. - Maintain petty cash and support cash flow monitoring. - Reconcile vendor and customer accounts monthly. - Conduct periodic bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly. - Reconcile intercompany transactions and general ledger accounts. - Assist in maintaining documentation for VAT and Corporate Tax compliance, record tax entries accurately, and reconcile VAT accounts monthly. - Prepare basic financial summaries such as expense reports, trial balances, and balance confirmations. - Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities. - Support monitoring departmental budgets, identifying cost variances, and contributing to internal control improvements. - Coordinate with procurement, HR, and operations teams for accounting inputs. - Maintain and file financial documents both digitally and physically. - Support ad-hoc financial analysis or administrative tasks as assigned. Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. - 1-3 years of accounting experience; UAE Operations experience is an advantage. - Familiarity with UAE VAT and basic knowledge of Corporate Tax. - Experience using accounting software. - Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation). - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Key Competencies: - Accuracy and attention to detail. - Understanding of accounting fundamentals and IFRS basics. - Strong data entry and documentation discipline. - Time management and ability to meet deadlines. - Team-oriented and proactive attitude. - Ethical and confidential handling of financial data.
