A Jr. Wireman with an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) in Electrical performs installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and wiring under supervision, requiring skills in electrical theory, wiring methods, troubleshooting, blueprint reading, using hand and power tools, and adhering to safety codes. Responsibilities include testing circuits, identifying faults, connecting electrical components, and ensuring compliance with electrical standards, with mentorship from senior electricians.

Responsibilities

• Install & Maintain: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, fixtures, and equipment in various settings like homes, factories, and commercial buildings.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using testing devices, ensuring systems are safe and functional.
• Inspection & Testing: Conduct routine inspections of electrical components, including transformers and circuit breakers, and test wiring for leakage and continuity.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local and national electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Support & Mentorship: Assist senior electricians and engineers with projects and receive guidance and training.

Essential Skill Set

• Electrical Theory: A foundational understanding of electrical principles and how systems work.
• Blueprint & Schematic Reading: Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and specifications to guide installations.
• Wiring Techniques: Expertise in installing various types of wiring, such as cleat, conduit, and concealed wiring.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnosis: Skill in identifying and resolving electrical problems using diagnostic tools.
• Tool Usage: Proficiently use a variety of hand tools and power tools for electrical work.
• Safety Protocols: Strong knowledge and adherence to electrical safety codes and procedures.
• Physical Dexterity: Good manual dexterity for working with tools and electrical components.
• Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address electrical challenges.
