Key Responsibilities: Patient Care Support: Assist patients with daily activities like bathing, grooming, feeding, dressing, and toileting. Help in shifting, lifting, or moving patients safely using wheelchairs, stretchers, or other devices. Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure under supervision. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients. Ward Maintenance and Hygiene: Keep patient rooms, beds, and surroundings clean and sanitized. Dispose of medical and general waste in accordance with hospital protocols. Ensure proper stock of consumables like gloves, linen, and toiletries in the ward. Assisting Medical Staff: Support nurses and doctors during medical procedures and examinations. Transport samples, specimens, and medications within hospital departments. Prepare and clean medical equipment and instruments after use. Record Keeping and Communication: Maintain patient movement records (admission, transfer, discharge). Report any abnormal patient behavior or condition to nursing staff immediately. Communicate politely and effectively with patients and their family members. Emergency Support: Respond quickly to patient calls and emergencies. Help in managing crowd control during visiting hours or emergencies. Key Responsibilities: Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions. Dispense prescribed medications and provide guidance on proper administration routes and dosages. Monitor patient responses to medications, adjust treatments in collaboration with physicians, and report adverse drug reactions. Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds when required (e.g., IV solutions, chemotherapy). Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and comply with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. Participate in ward rounds with the healthcare team to provide drug-related advice and optimize pharmacotherapy. Educate hospital staff about new drugs, protocols, and proper medication handling. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and security of pharmaceuticals within the hospital. Manage drug inventory, prevent shortages, and ensure the availability of essential medicines. Contribute to infection control, antimicrobial stewardship, and formulary management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug safety. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
