Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions. Dispense prescribed medications and provide guidance on proper administration routes and dosages. Monitor patient responses to medications, adjust treatments in collaboration with physicians, and report adverse drug reactions. Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds when required (e.g., IV solutions, chemotherapy). Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and comply with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. Participate in ward rounds with the healthcare team to provide drug-related advice and optimize pharmacotherapy. Educate hospital staff about new drugs, protocols, and proper medication handling. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and security of pharmaceuticals within the hospital. Manage drug inventory, prevent shortages, and ensure the availability of essential medicines. Contribute to infection control, antimicrobial stewardship, and formulary management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Registered and licensed with the national pharmacy board or regulatory authority. Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting (often preferred). Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug safety. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person
