We have a Job Opening for Safety Engineer: Projects in Reputed Industry at Karnataka.

Requirement Details:

• Location

  : Bangalore, Ballari, Harihar

• Designation:

  L 2 and L 3: SH ( Contract Basis)

• Experience: 6 to 18 Years
• Qualification: Any engineer (chemical/mechanical) with safety experience
• Additional: Courses of ADIS And DISA, DIS, M-tech in safety, PGDS, NIBOSH etc
• Expected Notice Period

  : Immediate to 30 days

Reporting of Safety Violations & Incidents

To identify the hazards at workplace & communicate the same to respective departments for its closure. Also, communicate hazards of different contractors to each other, in case of multiple contractors working and sharing the learnings.

Monitor, stop, correct and highlight safety violations. Take action if required. Report the same to concerned Safety Manager.

Monitor the compliance of all the violations reported by him and occurred in his area.

Motivate contract workmen for near miss reporting; Collect all the near miss & other incidents information from the workers. He must report these incidents to his concerned Safety Manager.

Safety Management System

Ensure Toolbox Talk (TBT) for all jobs are being conducted and to participate in TBT with at least one team. Also, maintain its records.

To check the completeness of work permits and Safe Work Procedure (SWP) on daily basis for its adequacy

Check availability of all mandatory PPEs & verify job specific PPEs while on job and ensure PPE compliance Maintain records of PPE issue

Know emergency situations & response plan of the Unit

Participate in Contractor Field Safety Audits (CFSA)

To co-ordinate with different departments one day prior of scheduled work & to get information about all the work to be carried out in his/ her area.

Actively participate in Theme of the month campaigns, assist team for its smooth functioning.

Display management- To check the displays of safety signage & ensure sufficient displays are implemented wherever required.

Periodic checks & Inspections

Ensure all PTWs, SWPs, Lift plans are reviewed for all activities being carried out in your area.

Ensure use & availability of fire extinguishers as per requirement while execution of Hot work & in welding booths, gas cylinder sheds, fabrication yards, electrical DBs, etc.

Ensure lifting tools are checked by competent person and maintain test certificate for tools and tackles belonging to contractor. Periodically check lifting tools & tackles for its healthiness & ensure colour coding system are followed.

To check the lift plan, ensure all safety precautions are taken care of prior work & monitor critical lift.

Before erection of any structures, ensure lifeline arrangement and working platforms are provided.

Monitor housekeeping at workplace & inform the discrepancies to concerned site engineer.

"Establish your own system for conducting periodic checks & inspections of,

all non-powered hand tools such as hammers, axe, chisels, etc. electrical equipments & power tools used at site & ensure LOTOTO system is being followed out wherever applicable,

gate passes of workers at site, fitness of vehicles entering the PnF premises, fall protection & preventive system at site, area lighting & illumination in night shift, others.

Orientation & Training

"Ensure Orientation training is completed for all workers before deputation; make aware to Contractor Staff about PnF Safety Policies and Principles.

Conduct motivation programs & on-job trainings for workmen."
