Job Description

Role Summary:

The Team Lead will be responsible for guiding a cross-functional team in the development and execution of key engineering and program objectives for our eVTOL platform. This role involves technical oversight, people leadership, milestone delivery, and close coordination with design, testing, certification, and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design, development, integration, and validation of systems (Propulsion / Avionics / Flight Controls / Mechanical / Battery Systems customize based on team).
  • Review technical documentation including CAD models, drawings, schematics, simulations, and test reports.
  • Drive design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR) and make technical decisions aligned with safety and certification requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and external engineering partners.

2. Team & Project Management

  • Manage a small to mid-sized team of engineers/technicians; assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Plan sprint cycles, set priorities, track KPIs, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, status reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.

3. Testing & Validation

  • Plan, execute, and document prototype tests including component, subsystem, and full-vehicle testing.
  • Ensure safety protocols, test procedures, and quality standards are followed.
  • Work closely with the certification & compliance team to meet regulatory guidelines.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams through all stages of development.
  • Support BOM planning, logistics, vendor selection, and prototype builds.
  • Participate in design-for-manufacturability and design-for-safety initiatives.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare design reports, test plans, technical notes, and project status updates.
  • Ensure adherence to aerospace standards (DO-160, ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254 — adjust based on system).
  • Support certification documentation required by DGCA / EASA / FAA.

Experience range: 5 to 10 Years (with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role)

Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge in at least one critical eVTOL domain:
  • Flight Controls / Avionics
  • Propulsion & Motors
  • Airframe & Mechanical
  • Battery & Power Systems
  • Systems Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with any of the following: MATLAB/Simulink, CAD tools (CATIA/SolidWorks), PCB design, embedded systems, CFD/FEA tools (optional).
  • Understanding of aircraft systems, UAVs, EV systems, or safety-critical product development.

Leadership Skills

  • Experience leading engineering teams or technical projects.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines in a startup environment
