Java Technical Lead (with Secondary Data Engineering/Data Science Expertise)

We are seeking a Java Technical Lead with 7+ years of experience and proven leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will drive the design and development of high-performance Java-based applications, distributed services, and enterprise-grade integration modules while leading a team of 8 10 engineers. In addition, the candidate will support data engineering initiatives and collaborate closely with data-focused teams.

Key Requirements

• Strong, hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and J2EE as the primary skillset
• Experience designing and developing scalable, enterprise-level backend systems and microservices
• Solid understanding of distributed computing concepts (parallelism, fault tolerance, cluster management)
• Experience with event-driven architecture; exposure to Apache Kafka preferred
• Ability to collaborate with data engineering teams on ingestion workflows and integration points
• Working knowledge of Apache Spark (Java preferred; Python/Scala exposure is a plus) for supporting data transformations
• Foundational understanding of Data Lake platforms Databricks experience is advantageous
• Exposure to Python or Scala for secondary data engineering tasks
• Strong analytical, debugging, and architectural design capabilities
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Agile (Scrum), and modern application/middleware architecture
• SQL and relational database expertise; MongoDB knowledge is a plus
• Ability to write high-quality unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber; TDD preferred)
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated team leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Private Wealth Management, Asset Transfer platforms, or related financial domain
