Role Overview

The Network cum System Administrator will be responsible for managing, securing, and maintaining the hospitals IT infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, and servers. The role ensures high availability, performance, and security of the hospital’s network and system resources to support seamless clinical and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Administration

• Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
• Manage VLANs, VPNs, and hospital-wide Wi-Fi network for staff, patients, and visitors.
• Perform network troubleshooting and root cause analysis for connectivity issues.

• System Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms.
• Ensure uptime of HIS/EMR servers, PACS, and other critical healthcare applications.
• Monitor system logs, apply patches, and carry out preventive maintenance.

• Security & Compliance

• Implement security best practices in line with hospital IT policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain firewall rules, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
• Ensure data backups, disaster recovery readiness, and periodic DR drills.

• Operational Support

• Provide L2/L3 support for escalated IT incidents across departments.
• Coordinate with vendors for AMC, warranty, and critical issue resolutions.
• Document system/network configurations and change management processes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in

  network and system administration

  (hospital/healthcare preferred).
• Strong knowledge of

  firewalls (Sonicwall, Fortinet )

  , routers, and switches (Cisco/Aruba).
• Hands-on experience with

  Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)

  .
• Good understanding of

  backup systems, storage (SAN/NAS), and disaster recovery solutions

  .
• Familiarity with healthcare IT systems (HIS, EMR, PACS, LIS/RIS) is an added advantage.
• Certifications such as

  CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, RHCE, or equivalent

  are desirable
