IT Support Specialist

As an IT Support Specialist at UST in Trivandrum, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with different teams and customers. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills, including email etiquette, will be essential in addressing customer issues and following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will utilize basic network commands to troubleshoot desktop and laptop connectivity issues. Proficiency in operating system commands, utilities, and a basic understanding of virtualization and server/client OS installations will be required for server management tasks. Additionally, you will provide support for OS installation, user-level commands, local user/group management, software installations, and basic patch management tasks. Monitoring enterprise storage and backup solutions to ensure optimal performance, proficiency in storage and backup monitoring, and resolution will be part of your responsibilities. You will also need to modify or create queries to meet business requirements, possess data modeling skills, understand the differences between OLTP and Data Warehouse applications, and optimize tables to minimize space usage and improve efficiency. Handling end-user calls, managing ticketing tools, resolving technical issues promptly, managing Active Directory (AD) and Antivirus software for security and compliance, and demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills are crucial aspects of end-user computing support. Knowledge of IT service, ServiceNow, and Active Directory will be beneficial in performing your duties effectively.
