Job Description

Job Title: Metro Stations

Department:

Role Purpose

To provide first and second-level IT support at metro stations, ensuring smooth operation of station systems including ticketing, networking, surveillance, AFC (Automatic Fare Collection), and communication systems. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, incident resolution, preventive maintenance, and coordination with central IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

L1 Support

  • Monitor and respond to incidents related to:
  • AFC gates
  • Ticketing machines
  • Networking devices
  • Station communication systems
  • Display and PA systems
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, log issues, and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Provide on-site support to station staff for IT equipment failures.
  • Perform daily health checks on systems and equipment.

L2 Support

  • Perform deeper diagnosis of hardware/software failures.
  • Replace faulty components or coordinate with vendors for repairs.
  • Remote support to other stations in absence of on-site resources.
  • Maintain configuration and documentation of station systems.
  • Support preventive maintenance schedules and upgrades.

Systems & Technologies

  • Networking (LAN/WAN, switches, routers)
  • Windows-based systems & servers
  • CCTV & security systems
  • Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems
  • PA & Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS)
  • Ticket vending machines (TVM / TOM)
  • UPS/Power backup understanding (preferred)

Key Skills Required

  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Knowledge of ITIL incident & service management
  • Good communication & coordination with teams
  • Ability to work independently at remote locations
  • Willingness for shift duties & night operations

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering (IT/Computer/Electronics) or related field
  • 13 years of IT support experience
  • Certifications preferred:

    CCNA, MCP, ITIL

    (not mandatory)

Work Environment

  • Station-based role with frequent mobility between stations
  • Shift duty including weekends and public holidays
  • Working with station staff, central IT, vendors, and control center
