Job Summary:
We are seeking a technically skilled and proactive IT Specialist to support the Design & Engineering department in managing and maintaining software systems essential for Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and 3D visualizers. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience with Autodesk software products including 3Ds Max, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM-related plugins. This role requires a strong understanding of software installations, troubleshooting, user support, and ensuring optimal performance of the design software environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for Autodesk software suite including3Ds max, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and associated BIM tools/plugins.
- Perform installation, configuration, activation, and troubleshooting of Autodesk and BIM-related software across multiple user systems.
- Collaborate with the BIM and Design Technology team to ensure smooth functioning of modeling tools and workflows.
- Support the deployment of updates, patches, and licensing for Autodesk products.
- Coordinate with the central IT team for system compatibility, software provisioning, and hardware requirements.
- Monitor and optimize software performance, user issues, and crashes.
- Assist in managing cloud-based collaboration tools like Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, if applicable.
- Maintain software documentation, installation guides, and troubleshooting logs for internal use.
- Provide periodic training or support sessions to D&E staff on basic software usage and updates.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support with exposure to AEC software tools.
- Proficient in Autodesk software suite:
Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and 3Ds Max, Enscape
. - Experience with BIM plugins, extensions, and cloud platforms like BIM 360 / ACC is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Windows OS, scripting (PowerShell), and remote support tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced design environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or relevant certifications.
- Previous experience working in a design, architecture, engineering, or construction firm.
- Knowledge of network licensing, floating license servers, and user credential management.
