Job Overview

Demand intake analyst

agenda for the Operations Board


Role Impact


The Demand intake analyst ensures the Operations Board has the right information at the right time to make informed decisions. By coordinating across IT, Product Owners, and business stakeholders, this role drives alignment, reduces inefficiencies, and ensures technology initiatives deliver maximum business value.

Key Responsibilities


Agenda Preparation

  • Collaborate with Product Owners to compile and organize all intake requests.
  • Consolidate IT capacity snapshots and assessments to provide the Operations Board with accurate resource availability.
  • Ensure each request includes both the

    IT feasibility

    and the

    business need/value proposition

    to enable informed decision-making.


Operations Board Support

  • Prepare and present the intake agenda for review by the Operations Board.
  • Provide necessary context and supporting information for each request to help the board

    approve, park, or reject

    submissions.
  • Act as the central point of coordination for technology submission reviews.


Stakeholder Alignment

  • Work closely with IT to understand assessments, risks, and dependencies for each request.
  • Partner with Product Owners to ensure business cases and value statements are clearly articulated.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and decision-makers.


Post-Approval Coordination

  • Inform Product Owners of approved initiatives and ensure they can begin preparing

    detailed requirements, solution designs, and backlog creation

    .
  • Support smooth handover from decision-making to execution.




Required Skills and Qualifications


  • Strong Communication Skills

    – ability to translate technical assessments into business terms and vice versa.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    – experience working with business, IT, and executive stakeholders.
  • Analytical Thinking

    – ability to synthesize business needs, IT capacity, and strategic priorities into actionable recommendations.
  • Organizational Skills

    – capable of managing multiple intake requests simultaneously and preparing clear, structured agendas.
  • Business & IT Knowledge

    – functional understanding of business operations and IT processes to bridge gaps between teams.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in

    demand management, product management, business analysis, or IT project coordination

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and portfolio governance processes is an asset.
