IT Assistant Manager (Handling HIMS Software)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced IT Assistant Manager – HIMS Software to oversee, manage, and support the Hospital Information Management System. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge, hands-on HIMS experience, and the ability to coordinate with hospital departments for successful workflow management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and maintain the hospital’s HIMS software (OP, IP, Billing, Pharmacy, Lab, Radiology, OT, Nursing, HR, Inventory modules, etc.).
• Troubleshoot HIMS-related issues and ensure timely resolution with minimal downtime.
• Coordinate with software vendors for updates, module changes, customizations, and technical support.
• Train staff (doctors, nurses, front office, billing, pharmacy, lab technicians) on HIMS usage.
• Implement new features, workflows, and system upgrades as per hospital requirements.
• Generate MIS reports, daily/weekly/monthly data, and support management with analytics.
• Ensure data accuracy, security, backups, and proper access control across departments.
• Monitor user logins, role permissions, and audit logs.
• Support integration of HIMS with diagnostics, pharmacy, accounting, biometric, and other IT systems.
• Collaborate with IT hardware/networking teams for smooth functioning of the software.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, issues, and solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science / Related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of HIMS handling experience (hospital experience mandatory)
• Strong understanding of hospital workflows and data processes
• Knowledge of SQL, databases, server management, and software troubleshooting is an advantage
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills
