Job Description

Job Summary:

The IT Assistant provides technical support and maintenance for all school technology systems, ensuring that both hardware and software operate efficiently to support teaching, learning, and administration. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading hardware, as well as installing and maintaining software applications across the school’s network.

Key Responsibilities:Hardware Support & Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, smartboards, and other IT or AV equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware faults or arrange for external repair services when needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of IT equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
  • Assist in setting up computer labs, classrooms, and examination systems.

Software Installation & Management

  • Install, configure, and update operating systems and school-approved applications.
  • Troubleshoot software issues for staff and students, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Assist with the deployment and maintenance of educational and administrative software (e.g., LMS, MIS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
  • Ensure software licensing compliance and maintain accurate records of installations.

Network & System Support

  • Provide basic network support, including setup and troubleshooting of wired and wireless connections.
  • Assist with managing user accounts, passwords, and permissions.
  • Support data backup procedures and ensure systems follow school IT security policies.

Technical Assistance & Training

  • Respond promptly to IT support requests from teachers, students, and administrative staff.
  • Help integrate technology into classroom learning and provide user support for digital tools.
  • Offer basic training or guidance on using hardware and software effectively.

Inventory & Documentation

  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of hardware, software, and IT accessories.
  • Keep logs of maintenance activities, support requests, and system configurations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Cisco CCNA) are preferred.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT administration, preferably in an educational or corporate setting.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Experience with software installation, updates, and configuration.
  • Understanding of basic networking (LAN/Wi-Fi, routers, switches).
  • Knowledge of data backup, antivirus management, and system security.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
