Job Description

As the International Business Development Manager, Maritime Sales, you will be responsible for expanding and managing marine export sales from India to Singapore-based maritime clients, such as ship owners, ship managers, offshore contractors, and marine procurement agents. Your role, based in Mumbai, will involve leading business development for ship chandling and vessel supply solutions while ensuring alignment with global maritime standards. Additionally, you will be required to travel periodically to Singapore to foster client relationships and increase business volumes. Your key responsibilities will include: - Identifying and targeting key stakeholders in the Singapore maritime ecosystem, including ship management companies, offshore service providers, and marine procurement firms. - Driving outbound sales strategy and lead generation efforts, along with attending maritime trade fairs, client meetings, and industry events in Singapore (46 visits per year). - Promoting and selling a wide range of marine and offshore supply items, responding to RFQs, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely follow-up and closure of sales leads with Singapore-based marine buyers. - Managing key client accounts to ensure consistent repeat business and maintaining proactive communication with vessel superintendents, technical managers, and procurement coordinators. - Creating commercial proposals with clear Incoterms (FOB/CFR/DDP), leading pricing negotiations, finalizing contracts aligned to client budgets and compliance, and coordinating with internal procurement, QC, and logistics teams for timely dispatch and order accuracy. - Ensuring packing, marine certification, and export documentation are compliant with Singapore Port Authority and client requirements, and working with freight forwarders, CHA, and shipping lines for timely delivery and compliance. - Keeping track of vessel movements, dry docks, and Singapore fleet activity, monitoring competitor pricing, product offerings, and trends, and providing insights on potential product-line extensions and bundling opportunities. Desired Qualifications and Skills: - Experience: 10 years in international maritime sales, ship chandling, or offshore supply. - Base Location: Mumbai, India - Travel: Willing to travel to Singapore for business development per year. - Industry Knowledge: Marine procurement, Incoterms, export documentation, IMO/SOLAS/MARPOL compliance. - Skills: B2B maritime sales, pricing negotiation, relationship management, CRM tools. - Education: Graduate in Commerce / Marine Engineering / International Trade (MBA preferred).
