Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Review, evaluate, and implement
ECRs/ECOs
related to instrumentation, control logic, and automation of fuel cell power plants.
Lead the modification and update of
instrumentation schematics, wiring diagrams, control narratives
, and
loop diagrams
.
Evaluate proposed changes for their impact on
system safety, functionality, diagnostics, and maintainability
.
Select and specify field instruments including sensors, transmitters, analyzers, flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature elements, and control valves.
Develop and review
control panel layouts
, including
PLC panels, MCC panels, relay logic panels
, and
remote I/O cabinets
.
Ensure compatibility of instruments with hazardous area classifications and certifications such as
IEC, NEC, ATEX/IECEx
.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, and field engineering) for
design validation and implementation
.
Support configuration updates and troubleshooting of
PLC/DCS systems
, HMIs, and remote monitoring interfaces.
Coordinate with suppliers for
instrument alternatives
,
material obsolescence
, and
firmware upgrades
.
Prepare and maintain accurate
technical documentation
, including
instrument index, I/O list, calibration data sheets
, and
installation guidelines
.
Provide support to
field service teams
by developing retrofit instructions and contributing to post-implementation performance reviews.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, or a related field.
7–10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, design, or change management, preferably within fuel cell, energy systems, or process automation sectors.
Strong working knowledge of sensors, transmitters, analyzers, flow meters, pressure and temperature instruments, and their industrial applications.
Hands-on experience in instrument selection for process and safety applications.
Proficiency in interpreting and developing control panel designs including MCCs, PLC panels, relay logic, and integration with control systems.
Familiarity with relevant instrumentation and control standards such as IEC, NEC, ISA, and hazardous area certifications like ATEX/IECEx.
Working knowledge of ECR/ECO workflows, PLM systems, and revision control practices.
Experience with field commissioning, maintenance, or remote diagnostics is desirable.
Excellent documentation and communication skills to interface with global engineering and operations teams.
