Job Description

General Manager of Installation

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics)

    or Construction Management is often preferred, though extensive practical experience may be a substitute.
  • Experience

    : Significant experience (typically 5-10+ years) in installation, project management, or field service roles within the parking, elevator, or automation industry, with demonstrated progression into leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management

    : Plan, coordinate, and manage the entire installation lifecycle from conceptualization to commissioning, including scheduling, resource allocation, and progress monitoring.
  • Team Leadership & Management

    : Lead, train, and mentor installation teams and potentially third-party contractors, ensuring adherence to standards, safety protocols (EHS guidelines), and quality control processes.
  • Technical Oversight

    : Provide expert technical guidance and troubleshoot complex issues related to mechanical, electrical, robotic, and automated parking systems. This includes familiarity with control panels, sensors, motors, and drives.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication

    : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the installation phase, manage expectations, resolve disputes, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure the financial performance of projects within their portfolio.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance

    : Proactively drive a culture of safety and quality, ensuring all installations comply with relevant building codes, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Process Improvement

    : Analyze performance metrics and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for installations.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Experience with parking management software (e.g., TIBA, Amano) and relevant technology.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) and local building codes.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and time management capabilities.

This role is critical for organizations implementing smart parking solutions and automated systems, balancing technical execution with operational strategy and client relationship management.
