Role Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize indexing, ranking, and evaluation pipelines for large-scale text datasets.
  • Combine traditional IR methods (BM25, TF-IDF) with neural re-rankers for hybrid retrieval systems.
  • Develop neural search pipelines using FAISS, Hugging Face Transformers, and PyTorch.
  • Design low-latency, scalable systems for serving results across massive corpora.
  • Build evaluation workflows with pandas to benchmark system performance.
  • Integrate IR pipelines into production environments using REST APIs.


Requirements

  • Background in Computer Science, Information Retrieval, or Data Engineering.
  • Proficiency with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch for large-scale indexing and querying.
  • Hands-on experience with FAISS, Hugging Face, and PyTorch for neural search and re-ranking.
  • Understanding of traditional IR algorithms such as BM25 and TF-IDF.
  • Experience designing low-latency, high-reliability pipelines at scale.
  • Familiarity with pandas for analysis and evaluation workflows.
