Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Provides information, guidance, and support for prevention and control of infection within the hospital
Keeping the records of antibiotics according to the policy and sensitivity pattern
Collecting data in support of epidemiological studies of specific problems or problem areas to determine the source of the problem and make appropriate recommendations.
Plan, organize, develop and implement educational program for all the hospital employers including administration and auxiliary services which convey specialized knowledge skills to increase employee awareness of existence of HAIs techniques for avoidance and preventive measures to provide safe environment for hospital employees and patients
The ICN will track rates and types of infections through surveillance systems and report information to the Performance Improvement Committee, Administrator, Director of Nursing and Medical Director
ICN Nurse will monitor aseptic techniques are followed before,during and after the procedures
ICN should guide and monitor the house keeping staff in high surface cleaning in the ICUS and wards
ICN Acts as a litigator between the nursing staff and the patient in Infection control practices
