Key Responsibilities: Perform donor screening, phlebotomy, and post-donation care. Collect blood and blood components from voluntary donors. Label and store blood units properly using correct protocols. Conduct blood typing, cross-matching, antibody screening, and compatibility testing. Maintain blood bank inventory and ensure proper stock rotation. Follow protocols for the processing and preservation of blood components (e.g., RBCs, plasma, platelets). Monitor and maintain equipment, refrigerators, and freezers, ensuring they are functioning correctly. Maintain accurate records of donations, test results, and transfusion records. Adhere to all quality control and safety procedures, including infection control. Assist in the management of adverse donor reactions or transfusion reactions. Ensure compliance with NABH, NABL, or other regulatory standards. Participate in internal and external audits, proficiency testing, and training programs.
