Industrial Designer – Job Description

We are looking for a creative and skilled Industrial Designer to develop innovative, user-friendly, and manufacturable product designs.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in medical device design, with the ability to work on concept development, 3D modelling, prototyping, and close collaboration with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create product concepts, sketches, storyboards, and 3D models
• Develop prototypes, mock-ups, and production-ready designs
• Design and develop medical devices with a strong understanding of usability, patient safety, ergonomics, and clinical environment requirements
• Improve product usability, aesthetics, ergonomics, and overall user experience
• Conduct basic user research and competitor analysis to support design decisions
• Coordinate with Engineering, R&D, Production, and Quality teams for design feasibility
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, BOM, and design documentation
• Select materials based on cost, durability, biocompatibility (for medical devices), and manufacturing suitability
• Support manufacturing teams during sample development, testing, and design validation
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback for improvement
• Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and industry standards (ISO, medical device guidelines, etc.)
• Work closely with vendors/suppliers for material selection, tooling, and prototyping
• Present design concepts and solutions to management and stakeholders
• Maintain version control and proper documentation of design files

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Design, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in Industrial/Product Design (medical device experience preferred)
• Proficiency in Sketch, CAD Modelling, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, and basic rendering tools
• Strong creativity, visualization, and problem-solving abilities
• Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes (injection moulding, sheet metal, CNC, 3D printing)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A professional portfolio showcasing design projects, sketches, 3D models, and prototypes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
