Indirect Tax Analyst

You will be joining a leading provider of cloud contact center software, Five9, in their quest to bring joy to customer experience. The team-first culture at Five9 fosters innovation, growth, and a thriving environment where you can be your authentic self. **Key Responsibilities:** - Review Sales and Telecom tax returns prepared by external service provider under the supervision of the U.S. tax team - Assist in reconciling the filed returns to the General Ledger - Manage the Tax Exemption Certificate maintenance process for exempt/reseller customers - Research and resolve state and local notices related to Sales Tax/Indirect tax filings - Assist in sales tax audits - Support the U.S. Tax Team with the preparation of internally prepared tax returns - Handle other ad hoc tax-related tasks as required **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - 2-3 years of relevant experience - Strong analytical skills - Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word - Willingness to learn about Five9's business and products, and application of sales or telecom taxes - Ability to work effectively while remote, with limited supervision - Willingness to work at least 50% of the workday on U.S. (California) time - General understanding of accounting principles, including general ledgers, trial balances, and journal entries **Desirable Skills:** - Tax experience, local or foreign, is a plus - Experience with NetSuite and/or Avalara Join a diverse and inclusive team at Five9, committed to building a workforce that represents various backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.
