India Regulatory Lead

As an experienced telecommunications regulatory and policy lead at RingCentral, you will be responsible for handling domestic telecommunications regulatory matters for cutting-edge cloud communications services in India. Your key responsibilities will include: - Advocating for telecom regulation for Internet Telephony services and other telecom laws and regulations in India that affect RingCentral with a business-savvy approach - Overseeing telecommunications regulatory and similar filings of RingCentral India to obtain and maintain telecommunications licensing and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance - Providing thought leadership and strategic advice on launching voice and video conferencing services by working directly with senior corporate leadership in India and the US - Advising product managers on regulatory changes or issues that might impact product design - Staying informed of industry-specific legislation/regulations and working with stakeholders to implement appropriate risk management strategies - Participating in the development of plans in response to newly passed legislation and regulations, as well as evaluating and developing proposed legislation and regulations - Contributing to the rollout of new technology and products like VoIP, video conferencing, online messaging, and other cloud-based services - Managing local counsel on jurisdictional telecom-related projects in India as needed Qualifications required for this position: - 15+ years of telecommunications regulatory experience, preferably in cloud communications or a related industry - Legal qualifications are not strictly required - Experience in managing the expectations of aggressive functional teams in a fast-paced environment - Strong organization and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously - Experience in team management - Ability to work effectively with individuals across cultures and collaborate in a team environment - Strong communication skills to interact with senior management - Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision - Fluent in Hindi and English; additional languages are a plus RingCentral, the worldwide leader in cloud-based communications, offers a software communications platform that provides various communication services to businesses globally.
