Independence Senior Associate 2

As a member of the National Office of Risk Management (NORM) at RSM, your role as the RSM InTrust Operations (Ops) Team Senior 2 will involve supporting the firm in managing risk related to independence requirements set by regulatory bodies such as the Securities Exchange Commission, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Your responsibilities will include managing the intake and analysis of relevant submissions, conducting reviews before system updates, and hosting phone and video calls with engagement teams to clarify updates. During off-peak periods, you may also directly make updates and create training materials and resources for the team. Additionally, you will serve as a subject matter expert on independence affiliate rules and coach stakeholders on these rules. Some key responsibilities of your role include: - Maintaining relationships and data in RSM InTrust, the firm's independence system of record - Coaching Client Engagement teams and stakeholders on independence affiliate rules - Identifying and implementing process improvements - Monitoring workload and ensuring timely completion of assignments Your qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or other business degree. You should possess technical and soft skills such as understanding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, coaching stakeholders on regulatory matters, and clear communication with diverse audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are also required. To be successful in this position, you should have at least 2 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with exposure to independence considerations. Experience coaching and monitoring a team in a standardized, process-driven environment and familiarity with an accounting firm's entity management system are also essential.
