Hydraulic design

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic System and Cylinder Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Ludhiana. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing hydraulic systems, manifolds, and hydraulic cylinders for industrial and mobile applications. This role requires strong knowledge of fluid power engineering, CAD modeling, and practical application of hydraulics in heavy machinery, construction equipment, and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hydraulic System Design

• Design and develop hydraulic circuits for mobile and industrial applications.

• Select and size hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, accumulators, and filtration units.

• Optimize designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

• Manifold & Circuit Design

• Design hydraulic manifolds and integrated circuits (HIC).

• Create detailed hydraulic schematics using software (AutoCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent).

• Ensure manufacturability and serviceability of hydraulic blocks/manifolds.

• Cylinder Design

• Design custom hydraulic cylinders based on application requirements.

• Calculate bore, rod size, stroke, pressure ratings, and material selection.

• Work with production to ensure design feasibility and quality standards.

• Project Execution & Documentation

• Work with OEM customers to translate functional requirements into hydraulic designs.

• Prepare detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.

• Support testing, prototyping, and validation of hydraulic systems and cylinders.

• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Coordinate with manufacturing and assembly teams for smooth execution.

• Implement best practices in hydraulic design and adhere to ISO standards.

• Drive product innovation and contribute to R&D initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred with specialization in hydraulics/fluid power).

• Experience: 3–7 years in hydraulic system, manifold, or cylinder design.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and mechanical design.

• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or Creo).

• Experience with hydraulic schematic design software.

• Knowledge of hydraulic standards (ISO, DIN, SAE).

• Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

• Effective communication with cross-functional teams and customers.

• Project ownership and accountability.
