Hybrid Mobile Test Automation QA Engineer – Contract Work – React Native iOS Mobile Application

We're seeking a part-time, freelance QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in React Native mobile app testing, specifically on iOS platforms, to join our team. This is a remote, independent contractor opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment. Our app is currently only available on the Apple App Store, so owning one or more iOS devices is required. Experience with React Native test frameworks and tools like Detox, Appium, BrowserStack, and/or AWS Device Farm is highly preferred.

Qualifications:

- Must own an iOS device (iPhone 6 or newer); owning two is a plus

- Prior experience testing React Native mobile applications

- Familiarity with automation frameworks like Detox, Appium, or WebdriverIO

- Experience using BrowserStack and/or AWS Device Farm for cross-device testing

- Proficient in writing automated test scripts and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines

- Strong understanding of regression, performance, and integration testing

- Experience working with Jira and Agile workflows

- Ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with global teams

- Stable internet connection is a must

- Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

- Execute test automation for our React Native-based iOS mobile app

- Own and maintain test suites to ensure high test coverage and stability

- Perform manual and automated testing including end-to-end, regression, and integration testing

- Log, track, and validate bugs using Jira

- Provide clear feedback and reports on test results, usability issues, and UI/UX inconsistencies

- Collaborate closely with the development team to understand features and test coverage needs

- Participate in occasional team stand-ups or sync calls as needed

Role Details:

- Contractor role – remote only

- Flexible hours: 5–10 hours/week minimum

- Must be available to start immediately

- A short QA test will be part of the interview process
