Job Description

The Hospital Maintenance Staff is responsible for the upkeep, inspection, and maintenance of critical hospital infrastructure, including medical gas systems, electrical components, plumbing, lifts, HVAC systems (ACs), and oxygen cylinders. The role ensures that all hospital facilities are functioning efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medical Gas System Maintenance:

  • Regularly inspect and maintain medical gas pipelines (oxygen, nitrous oxide, compressed air, vacuum lines).
  • Monitor gas pressure and ensure continuous supply to wards, OTs, and ICUs.
  • Coordinate refilling/replacement of oxygen cylinders and check for leakage.
  • Maintain logs of cylinder usage, pressure, and storage compliance.

2. Electrical Maintenance:

  • Routine inspection of electrical panels, switches, circuit breakers, UPS, and DG sets.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure uninterrupted power supply.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for major electrical repairs.
  • Monitor emergency backup systems and battery health.

3. Plumbing and Water Supply:

  • Maintain proper functioning of all water supply systems, taps, valves, drainage, and sewage systems.
  • Address leakages, blockages, or pipe bursts promptly.
  • Ensure water tanks and filters are cleaned regularly.

4. HVAC & AC Systems:

  • Monitor and maintain centralized and split AC units.
  • Ensure temperature control in critical areas like Operation Theaters, ICUs, and Labs.
  • Clean filters and ensure regular servicing.

5. Lifts and Elevators:

  • Conduct routine checks on lifts for smooth operation and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate with AMC vendors for periodic servicing.
  • Log all inspections and breakdown reports.

6. General Maintenance:

  • Respond to maintenance requests from hospital departments.
  • Conduct routine inspections across all areas of the hospital.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper condition.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain daily checklists/logbooks for all maintenance areas.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, NABH standards, and safety regulations.
  • Assist during audits and inspections by regulatory bodies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ITI/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in hospital/healthcare facility maintenance preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical gas systems and hospital safety norms.

Skills Required:

  • Basic technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and during emergencies.
  • Attention to detail and proactive work ethic.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
