Horticulturist

Description

We are seeking an experienced Horticulturist to join our team in Dwaraka Palace Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and a strong background in horticulture, with the ability to design and maintain beautiful landscapes and gardens. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical knowledge, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design gardens, landscapes, and horticultural spaces.
• Select and cultivate a variety of plants, including flowers, shrubs, trees, and vegetables.
• Monitor plant health and diagnose issues related to pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
• Develop and implement irrigation and fertilization plans.
• Conduct research on new horticultural techniques and plant varieties.
• Collaborate with landscape architects and other professionals on projects.
• Manage horticultural projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Educate clients and the public about horticultural practices and plant care.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in horticulture or landscape management.
• Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and pest management.
• Proficiency in using horticultural tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and design specifications.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
