Job Title : Head of Department (HOD) – English Location : EuroSchool Chimney Hills Qualifications : Postgraduate Degree in English or a related field. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an HOD in the English department, with proven leadership and teaching expertise. Key Skills and Attributes : Exceptional command of the English language (written and verbal). Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum planning and pedagogical approaches in English education. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teachers. Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for academic and administrative purposes. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Adaptability to new teaching methods and a commitment to continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities : Oversee and manage the English department, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with school goals. Design and implement a robust and engaging English curriculum across grade levels. Lead professional development initiatives for English teachers, including training and workshops. Evaluate and enhance teaching practices to maintain high academic standards. Collaborate with school leadership to organize events, competitions, and programs promoting English literacy. Monitor student performance and ensure consistent improvement in English language skills. Regularly review and update the curriculum to incorporate innovative teaching strategies and trends. Serve as a mentor and role model for English faculty, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture.
