As the Head of Department (HOD) English at EuroSchool Chimney Hills, you will be responsible for leading and managing the English department to ensure its smooth operation and alignment with school objectives. Your qualifications include a Postgraduate Degree in English or a related field, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification, and 3 to 5 years of experience as an HOD in the English department with demonstrated leadership and teaching expertise. Your exceptional command of the English language, both written and verbal, will be essential in this role. You should possess comprehensive knowledge of curriculum planning and pedagogical approaches in English education, along with strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and guide teachers effectively. Proficiency in utilizing technology and digital tools for academic and administrative purposes is also required. Your key responsibilities will involve designing and implementing a robust English curriculum across grade levels, leading professional development initiatives for English teachers, evaluating and enhancing teaching practices, and collaborating with school leadership to organize events promoting English literacy. You will monitor student performance, review and update the curriculum regularly, and serve as a mentor and role model for English faculty to foster a positive work culture.
