Position Overview

The History Teacher is responsible for teaching historical events, concepts, and perspectives to students, helping them understand the past and its impact on the present and future. The teacher will create engaging lessons, encourage critical thinking, and assess student learning in accordance with the school’s curriculum.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Classroom Management

• Plan, prepare, and deliver History lessons as per the curriculum.
• Teach world history, Indian history, civics, culture, and historical timelines.
• Use various teaching methods such as discussions, storytelling, projects, and multimedia.
• Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment.
• Encourage students to analyze historical events and develop critical thinking skills.

Assessment & Evaluation

• Prepare question papers, evaluate answer sheets, and maintain student records.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely feedback to students and parents.

Curriculum & Planning

• Develop lesson plans, learning materials, charts, and visual aids.
• Update teaching methods to make lessons interactive and engaging.
• Participate in curriculum review and development meetings.

Student Support

• Identify students’ learning needs and provide additional support where needed.
• Guide students in history-related projects, exhibitions, and competitions.
• Encourage historical research, reading, and inquiry-based learning.

Communication & Coordination

• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
• Coordinate with colleagues for interdisciplinary projects and activities.
• Attend school meetings, workshops, and training programs.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain attendance registers and academic records.
• Follow all school policies, examination procedures, and administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History or Social Science.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of historical events, timelines, and research methods.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
