Job Description

SUMMARY Steel Fixer Position Overview Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints to identify the necessary concrete reinforcement requirements. Choosing the appropriate type, size, and layout of steel bars or mesh for each project based on defined criteria. Preparing, cutting, and shaping steel reinforcement bars according to project specifications using various tools such as cutting torches, bending machines, or manual hand tools. Placing steel bars within concrete molds (formwork) to ensure structural integrity and securing them with wire to maintain proper alignment and spacing. Fastening steel bars with binding wire or welding to uphold their position during concrete pouring and constructing reinforcement cages for larger-scale projects. Ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards, including performing inspections and following safety protocols. Collaborating with fellow construction personnel and site supervisors to seamlessly integrate steel reinforcement into the overall construction process. Requirements Requirements: Prior experience in steel fixing or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with safety procedures and the safe handling of heavy materials. Strong teamwork and communication abilities. Benefits 3 years contract, will be renewed for more years.
