Job Description

Job purpose:

Contributes to planning, execution, and coordination of all production activities along with R&D at site to ensure that the company production targets are met while ensuring efficient production of goods as per the defined quality and cost parameters. The role also ensures efficiency improvement of the plant through process improvement, waste reduction, resource utilization, energy saving etc. The role will focus on scale up studies, creating basic engineering packages, conducting trials and delivering the process to operations.

Role & responsibilities:

Technology:

  • Knowledge of fundamental chemistry is highly desirable. By working closely with lab scientists develop safe, cost effective, and robust scale up process, create SOPs, Technical documents, analyze safety data. Create schedules for document transfer of new projects to be commercialized. Design experiments (DOE), plan negative experiments, observe, analyze, identify attributes, CPPs, CQAs and conclude with rationale.

Operation and Safety:

  • Prepare BFD, PFD, RM norms calculation, mass balance, utility mapping, create Plan B, MOC study in KL and PP. Calculate time cycle and create basic engineering package. Knowledge of heat and mass transfer, able to understand data generated from DSC, TSU, and RC. Understands hazards and risks. Understand accumulation, thermal runaway (MTSR). HAZOP analysis.

Documentation and Data Analysis:

  • Prepare cost sheets, consumption norms, create batch records, collect, organize, analyze and store relevant data. Prepare technical packages for smooth transferring of process to commercial production plant.

Stakeholder Management & Team Management:

  • Demonstrate attitude and capability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing technology environment.
  • Adopting a proactive approach to achieving a positive, engaging, promotional and relationship building role. Setting common goals, offering support to scientists and having strategies to reach goals in set timelines.

Policies, Processes and Systems:

  • Possess excellent organization, written, and verbal skills to convey project goals and inspire support from peers and senior management. Follow internal processes diligently.

Financial & Organizational Capacity:

  • Budgeting, contribute to CAPEX and OPEX proposals, help with BOM preparation, raw material control. Continuously improve costs. Continuously improve processes to ensure quality and efficiency. Set goals and review performance. Identify development needs and take stake in department performance.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum Education Qualification-

    B.Tech or M.Tech in Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum Experience (in Years)-

    5-8 years in Agro or Pharma Chemical Units

  • Certifications / Skills desired (if any) -

    Lean management, project management
