FarmaMondo is seeking an experienced Market Access Director to lead the development and implementation of access strategies across India and South Asia. This role will be instrumental in shaping the national access environment, securing funding pathways, and building strategic relationships with key stakeholders. Initially structured as an individual contributor role, the position offers the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated team as the organizations needs and presence in the region grow. The position will report directly to the Regional Managing Director for India and South Asia. FARMAMONDO AND JOB PURPOSE FarmaMondo is a fast-growing, Swiss-based pharmaceutical group specializing in market access services and full commercialization of specialty medicines through a unique geographical footprint. Our mission is to provide healthcare professionals and patients access to both licensed and unlicensed medicines in emerging markets. The Market Access Director India will lead FarmaMondos access initiatives across the country. The role involves building comprehensive market access and pricing strategies , developing reimbursement solutions , engaging healthcare payers and policy makers , and coordinating with funding partners to secure treatment affordability. This is a highly strategic and externally focused role designed to influence access environments and support long-term growth. The Director will be based in Mumbai . KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Market Access & Reimbursement Strategy Design and implement India-specific market access strategies for both licensed and unlicensed products. Develop and submit value-based proposals to government bodies, private payers, and hospital committees. Shape reimbursement frameworks, ensuring alignment with therapeutic value, affordability, and policy priorities. Drive product inclusion in formularies, treatment guidelines, and state-level procurement programs. Business Case Development Build compelling access-focused business cases integrating patient journey data, health economics, burden of disease, and real-world evidence. Collaborate with commercial and global teams to align business cases with broader launch and access goals. Stakeholder & KOL Engagement Cultivate and manage relationships with KOLs, health economists, policy influencers, payer decision-makers, and healthcare institutions. Organize and lead scientific exchange sessions, payer roundtables, and access policy discussions to advocate for FarmaMondos therapies. Serve as the access representative in external forums and payer engagements. Funding & Partner Coordination Identify and coordinate with donor organizations, philanthropic foundations, CSR programs, and government-funded schemes to support patient access. Develop models for cost-sharing, risk-sharing, or value-based access with funding bodies and payers. Work closely with internal teams to track access program performance and scalability. Alliance Management (Future-Oriented) Identify potential strategic partnerships or co-commercialization alliances with local or regional companies, NGOs, or government-backed agencies. Serve as the primary liaison for external access-focused collaborations, ensuring alignment on access objectives and timelines. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Public Health, or Health Economics; an MBA is an advantage. 1520 years of proven experience in Market Access roles within multinational pharmaceutical companies in India In-depth understanding of Indias public and private payer systems, reimbursement frameworks, and health policy environment. Strong experience in pricing, payer engagement, patient access programs, and health economics. Therapeutic area experience in Oncology, Rare Diseases, Neurology, Hematology, or Pediatrics is preferred. Demonstrated success in building funding partnerships and payer-based access models. You will be able to provide advice on how to deliver the public health/epidemiological aspects of an applied research study.
