Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Technology with a strong understanding of Agentic AI to lead our technology strategy and engineering teams at Lawcubator. Responsible for driving the technical vision of our ComplyMS platform, ensuring it remains secure, scalable, and innovative in the evolving legal tech landscape. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee all aspects of product development, infrastructure, and technology operations, while fostering a culture of excellence in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment. This is a full-time, executive-level position based in Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute the overall technology roadmap aligned with business goals, including scaling ComplyMS to handle increasing user loads, integrating AI/ML for advanced analytics, and enhancing features for compliance automation.
• Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team, including backend, frontend, DevOps, and QA engineers. Promote best practices in agile methodologies, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Architecture and Development Oversight: Architect and maintain robust, secure systems using our core tech stack (Java Spring Boot for backend, ReactJS for frontend, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB for databases). Ensure seamless integration with AWS services, including ECS for container orchestration.
• Infrastructure and Operations: Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, optimizing for cost, performance, and reliability. Oversee CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, ensuring efficient deployments and version control.
• Security and Compliance: Prioritize data security and privacy, implementing best practices for encryption, access controls, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, data protection laws) critical to our legal tech focus.
• Innovation and R&D: Identify emerging technologies and trends in legal tech, SaaS, and HR tools to drive product enhancements, such as real-time analytics, automated reporting, and grievance management systems.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, sales, legal, and operations teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring timely delivery of features and updates.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring tools and analytics to track system performance, user experience, and uptime, proactively addressing issues.
• Vendor and Budget Management: Oversee technology budgets, vendor relationships (e.g., AWS, GitHub), and procurement of tools to support development.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
• Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of Technology, VP of Engineering) at a SaaS or tech company. Proven track record in scaling platforms in legal tech, HR tech, or similar regulated industries.
• Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of Agentic AI concepts, including autonomous task execution, reasoning, and tool or API integration.

Deep hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot for building scalable backend services.

Proficiency in database management with PostgreSQL (relational) and DynamoDB (NoSQL).

Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, including ECS for containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code.

Experience with GitHub for version control, collaboration, and CI/CD pipelines.

Frontend development oversight with ReactJS, ensuring responsive and user-friendly interfaces.

Familiarity with security protocols, encryption (e.g., AES-256), and compliance standards in data-sensitive environments.

Preferred Experience

• Background in legal tech, HR compliance, or SaaS platforms handling sensitive data.
• Experience integrating AI/ML for analytics or automation in compliance tools.
• Knowledge of additional AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3) or tools for real-time data processing.
• Track record of successful product launches and scaling to enterprise-level clients.
