Head - R&D - Mechanical - Coimbatore

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for research, planning, and implementing new projects in the organization and overseeing the

  development of new product

  s.
• Develop concepts, products, and solutions by coordinating with Sales and Service.
• Determine and execute improved technologies used by competitors, and customers.
• Establish project goals and priorities by collaborating with Marketing and Operations.

• Research, design and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes and equipment.
• Understand customer expectations on to-be manufactured product.
• Manage customer relationships and perform Review, Customer Visits, and Product Testing and Evaluation study.
• Interaction with Purchase for Supplier as well as component Development.
• Adopting local solutions by necessary changes and customization.
• Brand ambassador for organization's products and always reflect company values.
• Research customer needs and identify how our solutions meet them & offer right solution & product mix.
• Solve problems of customers by developing innovative and tailored R&D solutions.
• Hire, train, motivate, and advise a team of R&D Engineers.
• Monitor team metrics and objectives ensuring meeting of goals. Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop a plan to fulfil them.
• Document all phases of Research and Development.

Preferred candidate profile

• Master / Bachelor of Mechanical or Textiles Engineering
• Minimum of 20 to 25 Years in the field of R&D in Textile Machinery

  Textile Machine Development

• Should have good experience with

  NPD Concept to commercialization

• Should have

  excellent communication skills.

• Should have detailed knowledge of textile machines, its functioning and in-depth product knowledge.
• Should have good experience in customer handling experience and relationship building.
• Should have good knowledge tools

  like Autodesk Inventor, Solid Edge, Solid Works & Auto

CAD)

• Should have very good Communication in written and Oral (English and regional language)
• Should be deft in R&D Documentation Process.
• Should be Tech savvy, healthy and well groomed, presentable to represent high value product line and adaptable to travel based on the requirement of the business
