The Head of Quality is responsible for the overall quality activities of the organization, including Quality Management System (QMS), Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, Quality Improvement Programs (QIP), and Operational Quality. This role defines and drives the company s quality strategy, ensures compliance with applicable standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements), and builds a strong culture of quality excellence. The Quality Head ensures that all products, processes, and services meet or exceed customer expectations, while leading continuous improvement initiatives across the organization and supply chain.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelors/ Master s degree in Mechatronics / Mechanical / Electronics.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years experience in Quality, with at least 3 years in Leadership role.

Experience in automotive/electronics/EMS manufacturing environment preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership People Management

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing quality team.

Conduct regular training on standards, quality tools, and customer-specific requirements.

Ensure effective resource allocation within the quality department.

Promote cross-functional collaboration between Production, RD, Supply Chain, and Quality.

Quality Management System (QMS)

Establish, maintain, and continually improve the company s QMS.

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific quality requirements.

Function as

Management Representative

during certification and customer audits.

Develop and monitor Quality Policy, Objectives, and KPI dashboards.

Lead risk management activities, including risk assessments, mitigation, and monitoring.

Customer Quality

Serve as the senior escalation point for customer complaints and quality issues.

Ensure effective and timely response to customer complaints using 8D, CAPA, and problem-solving tools.

Monitor customer satisfaction metrics (scorecards, warranty data, field failures) and drive improvement actions.

Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and ensure customer-specific requirements are embedded from design stage.

Supplier Quality

Define supplier quality strategy, qualification criteria, and evaluation methods.

Oversee supplier audits, development, and continuous monitoring.

Collaborate with Procurement to improve supplier capability and reduce incoming defects.

Ensure robust incoming quality inspection and material traceability.

Operational Quality

Oversee incoming, in-process, and final product quality assurance.

Approve and monitor Control Plans, Inspection Standards, and Acceptance Criteria.

Ensure effective deployment of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.

Drive defect prevention rather than detection.

Ensure effective change management and engineering change control

Continuous Improvement

Drive initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, customer returns, and warranty costs.

Implement structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, DMAIC).

Promote Lean Six Sigma and Total Quality Management (TQM) practices.

Establish benchmark KPIs (DPPM, FPY, COPQ) and monitor progress.

Foster a Zero Defect and Right First Time culture

Key Skills:

Strong leadership and strategic thinking ability.

Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, and customer-specific requirements.

Proven track record of leading audits and driving organizational compliance.

Excellent problem-solving skills (8D, 5-Why, DMAIC, SPC).

Strong stakeholder management customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Preferred Certifications:

ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.

IATF 16949:2016 Internal/Lead Auditor.

Core Tools Certification (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).

Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent.
