Job Purpose

  • Drive adherence to quality norms and principles for plant production and processes with a Zero Defect vision.
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and strengthen customer confidence in quality.
  • Build and nurture a strong quality culture across the organization.
  • Strengthen organizational quality capabilities and drive Total Quality Management (TQM) and business excellence as per the company’s roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve zero customer complaints through proactive quality management and effective root cause resolution.
  • Ensure readiness for customer audits and product approvals.
  • Implement “Built-in Quality” through robust manufacturing processes and controls.
  • Establish and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Deploy quality planning tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC for product and process improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement through quality tools, TPM, and business excellence initiatives.
  • Support supplier quality improvement programs.
  • Enable business performance by ensuring on-time inspections and right-first-time execution.
  • Lead people development initiatives such as training, Kaizen, 5S, Quality Month, and career development programs.

Key Figures

  • Support achievement of annual sales revenue of 1000 Crore.
  • Maintain Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) below 1% of total sales.

Team Structure

  • Direct Reports:

    5 (1 Manager, 3 Deputy Managers, 1 Assistant Manager)
  • Indirect Reports:

    21 Executives, 12 Permanent Operators, 149 Contract Operators

Key Success Factors

  • Zero customer complaints.
  • Zero Cost of Poor Quality (as a percentage of sales).
  • Right-first-time customer inspections and approvals.
  • Zero major non-conformances in external IMS and NABL audits.

Major Challenges

  • Preventing repeat customer complaints through effective root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Sustaining robust Quality Assurance systems across all functions.
  • Ensuring thorough validation of new product launches.
  • Fostering a cross-functional culture of continuous improvement.

Qualification & Experience

  • B.E. in Electrical / Mechanical / Production with 18+ years of experience; MBA or M.Tech preferred.
  • Proven experience in Quality Management within manufacturing of industrial electrical products, automotive, or large-scale component industries.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong command over core quality tools – QA Plan, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, and Auditing.
  • Knowledge of QMS standards – ISO 9001, IATF 16949; Certified Internal Auditor preferred.
  • Experience with TQM tools and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification is desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Data-driven decision-making and strong leadership with a customer-centric mindset.
