Head of Technology & Product Development

Backend, Frontend, Mobile, QA/Automation, AI/ML, and UI/UX

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology & Architecture Leadership

• Own the technology vision, architecture strategy, system scalability, and overall engineering quality.
  
• Define secure coding standards, engineering guidelines, and system design patterns.
  
• Ensure that products meet banking-grade performance, security, and compliance standards.
  

2. Team Leadership & Delivery Ownership

• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams across engineering and product development.
  
• Drive predictable, high-quality product releases aligned with the roadmap.
  
• Manage team hiring, training, capability development, and performance processes.
  
• Address technical debt, improve maintainability, and ensure long-term platform scalability.
  

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Clients for scope definition, solutioning, and technical reviews.
  
• Convert business requirements into detailed technical plans and execution roadmaps.
  
• Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders, especially within BFSI domains.
  

4. Engineering Excellence

• Establish CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and performance standards.
  
• Ensure secure, stable, and reliable product releases with strong QA/Automation practices.
  
• Evaluate and adopt technologies that improve efficiency, performance, or product value.

Frontend

• React.js, Next.js (SSG/SSR), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  
• Component libraries, responsive/mobile-first UI, design systems
  
• Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress

Backend

• Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST API development

• QA integration into CI/CD workflows
  

Security & Compliance

• OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices
  
• Understanding of PCI DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR basics
  
• Experience working in regulated BFSI systems preferred
  

Design & Collaboration

• Figma, Adobe XD
  
• Agile tools: Jira, Confluence
  
• Good understanding of UX fundamentals and user flows
  

Cross-Functional Understanding (Basic Must-Haves)

• AML/Compliance fundamentals: KYC, sanctions, transaction monitoring
  
• UI/UX basics: wireframes, user journeys, accessibility
  
• QA basics: test strategy, smoke/regression cycles
  
• Product management fundamentals: roadmaps, prioritization, stakeholder communication
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years

  of experience in software development and engineering leadership roles.
• Proven experience delivering scalable, secure fintech or enterprise-grade products.
  
• Strong architecture, system design, and technical decision-making skills.
  
• Hands-on skill in at least two domains: Backend, Frontend, Mobile, QA, DevOps, AI.
  
• Experience leading small to mid-sized technical teams.
