Head of SEO

Role Overview: You are being offered a pivotal leadership role as the Head of SEO at WhatJobs Ltd, a global job search platform headquartered in the UK and operating in over 70 countries and 22 languages. In this position, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing SEO strategies across the organization, collaborating closely with various teams to establish a robust global SEO framework capable of operating at scale. Your responsibilities will include recruiting, managing, and mentoring a dedicated SEO team based in Bangalore, as well as overseeing SEO integrity for all content initiatives to enhance WhatJobs" visibility across various platforms. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and enhance WhatJobs" global SEO architecture across 70+ countries and 22 languages. - Create scalable SEO frameworks encompassing backend logic, frontend templating, and UX structures. - Lead international SEO strategies such as hreflang, language targeting, and geo-indexation. - Supervise SEO for editorial and content assets, including career advice, resume support, news, and structured job descriptions. - Address and resolve Search Console and Bing/IndexNow issues on a large scale. - Implement and monitor structured data markup (JobPosting, Breadcrumb, FAQ, etc.). - Establish automated audit systems and performance dashboards utilizing tools like GSC API, BigQuery, Looker. - Drive proactive experimentation, testing, and identification of long-tail opportunities. - Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing SEO support team in Bangalore. - Present SEO strategy, KPIs, and roadmap priorities to the global leadership. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 8 years of SEO experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior technical or strategic SEO role. - Experience managing SEO for high-scale websites with 500,000+ indexable pages. - Profound knowledge of international SEO practices, including hreflang, regional targeting, and localization. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with backend, frontend, design, and marketing teams. - Familiarity with non-Google discovery ecosystems such as Bing IndexNow, DuckDuckGo, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. - Passion for SEO beyond job requirements, ideally involved in relevant communities and platforms.
