The Role

dynamic and visionary leader

As an NGO, it is essential to be empathetic to our team and physically present to create a channel of trust with our community of makers. You should also have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Marketing:

? Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue and market share for our handmade paper and cloth products.

? Identify and cultivate new sales channels, including retail partnerships, corporate collaborations, online platforms, and exhibitions.

? Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges.

? Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.

Production and Innovation:

? Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping to production and quality control.

? Monitor production schedules and ensure the timely completion of orders

? Build in a system of quality control and embed quality control practices within the team to ensure organizational quality standards across all products.

? Source new materials and explore sustainable production methods to enhance our product line. Explore ways to reduce waste and reuse raw materials to improve organizational sustainability.

? Identify areas of process improvement to enhance efficiency.

Strategic Leadership and Vision:

? Work closely with the board and team to refine and execute the organization's long-term vision.

? Develop a strategic growth plan for the NGO, including financial sustainability and scaling impact.

? Mentor and build the team's and ladies capacity, fostering a culture of ownership and collaboration.

? Represent the organization at events, conferences, and in the media to raise awareness and attract new partnerships.

? Manage and supervise a production staff and ladies team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

? Coordinate with other departments (e.g., product development, sales, finance) to ensure seamless operations and alignment with organizational goals.

Financial and Administrative Oversight

? Manage operational budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.

? Prepare regular reports on operational performance, including production output, quality metrics, and inventory levels.

? Maintain accurate records of production, sales, and inventory data.

? Maintain key impact indicators and periodic review of our performance across each indicator. Develop plans to address areas that need intervention and improvement.

Qualifications

? Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, Social Work, or a related field.

? Proven experience in sales, business development, or operational management, preferably in the retail, craft, or social enterprise sector.

? A passion for handmade products and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the craft industry.

? Demonstrated experience in product development and a strong aesthetic sense.

? Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

? Ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment.

? A strong commitment to social impact and women's empowerment.

? Experience with e-commerce platforms and digital marketing is a plus.

Job Location: KolkataSalary : 9 LPA + Variable
