Job Title: Head of R&D and Application Lab (PU & PVC Coatings) Location: Panchkula/Baddi (Solan) Himachal Pradesh Reporting to: Business Head / Director We are seeking an experienced professional to lead this initiative, responsible for developing innovative formulations, setting up an application lab, and addressing customer application challenges. Key Responsibilities: Research & Product Development: Lead R&D initiatives in PU and PVC coatings for synthetic leather, technical textiles, and functional coatings. Develop new formulations and improve existing ones for enhanced performance, sustainability, and compliance with global regulations. Stay updated on industry trends, including eco-friendly and low-VOC alternatives. Application Lab Setup & Management: Establish and oversee an advanced application lab for formulation testing and optimization. Conduct application trials ensuring performance attributes like adhesion, flexibility, and chemical resistance. Implement best practices in lab operations and compliance. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical assistance to customers and internal teams to optimize application processes. Collaborate with production teams for seamless scale-up of formulations. Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure compliance with REACH, RoHS, VOC limits, and other industry standards. Develop sustainable and eco-friendly coating solutions. Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a team of scientists and technicians in R&D and application development. Work closely with business teams, sales, and manufacturing to align R&D efforts with business objectives. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Master’s/Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. Experience: Minimum 10 years in R&D and application development for PU/PVC coatings. Technical Skills: Expertise in coatings chemistry, formulation, performance testing, and eco-friendly alternatives. Soft Skills: Leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication skills.
