Head of Production Planning & Control (PPC)

As the Head of Production Planning & Control at Vaibhav Global Ltd (VGL), your role will be crucial in overseeing all aspects of production planning and control for gemstone and jewellery manufacturing processes. Your strategic thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities will be essential in optimizing production flow, minimizing lead times, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Jewellery Production Planning:** - Develop and execute comprehensive production schedules considering order volume, lead times, resource availability, and production capacity. - Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions for timely delivery. - Manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to optimize production flow. - Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and improve efficiency. - Maintain accurate production records and reports including schedules and key performance indicators. - **Gemstone Supply Planning:** - Develop and implement a robust supply plan considering market trends, supplier availability, and quality standards. - Manage gemstone inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing holding costs. - Collaborate with sourcing teams, evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality standards. - **Team Management:** - Lead and mentor a team of production planners and coordinators. - Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and foster a collaborative work environment. - **Continuous Improvement:** - Analyze production processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement new technologies. - Develop cost-reduction strategies and implement best practices for enhanced efficiency. **Qualifications:** - Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field. - 8+ years of production planning experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably jewellery. - Proven experience in managing gemstone procurement processes. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. - Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and excellent leadership and communication skills. **Desired Skills:** - Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. - Knowledge of international gemstone quality standards. - Experience with ERP systems designed for the jewellery industry.
