Description
We are seeking an experienced Head of Design (HOD) to lead the entire design engineering department in our Control Panel Manufacturing division. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in electrical design, project execution, team management, and compliance with international standards for LT/HT panels and automation systems. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the design team for MCC, PCC, AMF, APFC, PLC, and VFD control panels . Review and approve electrical design documents , including SLDs, GA drawings, wiring schematics, and BOQs. Oversee design quality, standardization, and ensure compliance with IEC, IS, and UL standards . Coordinate with sales, production, purchase, and project teams to ensure accurate, cost-effective, and timely designs. Interface with clients for technical discussions, design approvals , and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) processes. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and design guidelines for the department. Guide the adoption and optimization of design software tools like AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN , etc. Train, mentor, and monitor performance of junior and mid-level design engineers. Manage multiple projects simultaneously , ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget. Key Requirements: Technical Skills : Expert in AutoCAD Electrical , EPLAN , and panel design software. In-depth understanding of power & control circuits , switchgear, and control logic. Strong knowledge of IEC 61439 , IS 8623, UL 508A, and related standards. Proven ability to manage design workflows, people, and interdepartmental coordination. Excellent leadership, communication, and client interaction skills.
