Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic IT Leadership

Develop and implement the hospitals IT strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
Lead digital transformation initiatives (EMR/EHR adoption, telemedicine, automation, IoT, AI tools).
Evaluate emerging healthcare technologies and recommend adoption.

2. IT Infrastructure & Systems Management

Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, storage, and data centers.
Ensure smooth functioning of HIS, PACS/RIS, LIS, ERP, HRMS, pharmacy systems, and billing systems.
Coordinate upgrades, patch management, and system optimization.

3. Hospital Information Systems (HIS/EMR)

Lead HIS/EMR deployment, customization, integration, and troubleshooting.
Support clinical departments to ensure systems meet medical workflow requirements.

4. Cybersecurity & Data Protection

Establish IT security policies to safeguard patient data (HIPAA/GDPR/local regulations).
Implement firewalls, antivirus, data backup, DR (disaster recovery), and business continuity plans.
Perform periodic audits, penetration testing, and risk assessments.

5. Vendor & Contract Management

Manage relationships with hardware/software vendors, cloud providers, and service partners.
Oversee procurement, negotiation, and contract renewals.

6. Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and evaluate IT staff including network engineers, system admins, support technicians, and biomedical IT coordinators.
Plan training programs to enhance staff skills.
