Head of Engineering

Role Overview: As the Vice President of Technology at 39k Group, India's largest crypto trading firm, you will play a crucial role in leading the engineering and architecture teams. Your responsibilities will include designing systems, managing people, and ensuring the performance and reliability of our entire tech stack. Key Responsibilities: - Own the system architecture across trading, data, and platform teams, making design decisions with long-term scale and performance in mind. - Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers proficient in Rust, C++, Python, Node.js, and React. - Review and guide the implementation of trading systems, market data pipelines, and distributed services. - Foster a high-performance engineering culture with clear accountability, fast iteration, and strong code quality. - Collaborate closely with quant and trading leads to develop resilient, scalable systems that meet market needs. - Oversee infrastructure and operations strategy, including deployments, observability, system reliability, and runtime performance. - Recruit and cultivate a team, balancing speed, quality, and scale in decision-making. Qualifications Required: - You should have at least 10 years of experience in building complex systems, preferably in a trading, high-frequency trading, or infrastructure-heavy environment. - Deep understanding of distributed systems, performance optimization, and system design is essential. - Hands-on experience with various layers of the tech stack, including networking, messaging, compute, and UI. - Strong engineering fundamentals and technical judgment, with comfort in reading and reviewing production-grade code in Rust, C++, and Python. - Previous leadership experience managing cross-functional engineering teams with full delivery ownership. - Proven bias for action, product-minded thinking, and a commitment to eliminating technical debt without purpose.,
